Job Overview
Sundry Markets is recruiting Accounting Trainees (Cash Officers) for its 2026 Accounting Trainee Programme. This full-time graduate opportunity is open across multiple locations in Nigeria, including Lagos, Ibadan (Oyo), Port Harcourt (Rivers), Mowe (Ogun), Benin (Edo), Warri (Delta), Onitsha (Anambra), and Akure (Ondo).
This programme is ideal for recent graduates seeking to start a professional accounting career within Nigeria’s modern retail and supermarket industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Record daily financial transactions with proper documentation
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Verify supplier invoices and process payments
- Reconcile accounts and cash records regularly
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis
- Participate in internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data
- Provide basic financial insights to support business decisions
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Must not be more than 30 years of age
- Completion of NYSC or possession of a valid exemption letter
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within a retail finance environment
