Sundry Markets is recruiting Accounting Trainees (Cash Officers) for its 2026 Accounting Trainee Programme in Lagos State, Nigeria. This is a full-time, on-site graduate opportunity designed for young accounting professionals looking to build a solid foundation in retail finance within a fast-growing supermarket organization.
The role is ideal for recent graduates seeking entry-level accounting jobs in Lagos with structured training and long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and cash records
- Record daily transactions and ensure proper documentation
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Verify invoices, process payments, and reconcile accounts
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis
- Participate in internal and external audit activities
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Work with store and operations teams to gather financial data
- Provide basic financial insights to support management decisions
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Must not be more than 30 years of age
- Completion of NYSC or possession of a valid exemption letter
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within the retail and supermarket industry
